Pet relocation from the UK to Singapore

The UK sits in Schedule I, the shortest route into Singapore. No rabies blood test, no quarantine, and a timeline measured in weeks rather than months.

AVS places Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Schedule I, alongside Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland. That removes the two longest waits in the whole framework: the 28 days between rabies vaccination and the blood draw, and the 90 days between a passing result and departure. What remains is paperwork, a vet visit and a flight.

Your pet still needs an ISO microchip, core vaccinations given at least two weeks before export, and parasite treatment for both fleas/ticks and worms in the two-to-seven day window before travel. The health certificate must be on the AVS template and endorsed by the exporting country's government veterinary authority, which in the UK means APHA endorsement — build in time for it.

The residence rule catches people out more often than anything else here. Your pet must have lived in the UK, or another Schedule I country, for the six months before export, or since birth. A pet that moved to the UK from elsewhere within that window may not qualify for the Schedule I route at all.

I

United Kingdom is a Schedule I country.

Rabies-free. No rabies blood test and no quarantine when the other conditions are met — the fastest route.

Home quarantine may still apply. AVS waives post-arrival quarantine only if your pet arrives within 5 days of your own move to Singapore and has lived with you for the 6 months before import. Otherwise — including pets bought, adopted or rescued overseas — expect a minimum 10-day quarantine at home, with a smart collar tag at S$29 per pet per day and transport by an AVS-designated transporter.

Starting today, the earliest flight lands 7 Dec 2026

That's about 1 month of preparation. Dates assume nothing goes wrong — a failed blood test restarts the middle section.

What these dates assume›
  • The microchip goes in today and the rabies vaccination the next day.
  • Your pet has lived in the exporting country for the previous six months, or since birth.
  • Cargo space is available on the date we want, and the arrival is not a Sunday or public holiday.

Questions

United Kingdom, answered.

Does a pet from the UK need a rabies blood test for Singapore?

No. The UK is a Schedule I country, so the rabies serology test and its 90-day waiting period don't apply, provided your pet meets the six-month residence condition.

Will my pet be quarantined on arrival from the UK?

No quarantine at the Animal Quarantine Centre applies to Schedule I imports when all conditions are met. Your pet is inspected at CAPQ on arrival and can go straight home the same day.

How quickly can a pet move from the UK to Singapore?

About a month in practice, driven by the import licence, the endorsed health certificate and cargo availability rather than by waiting periods. Use the route checker on this page for dates from today.
